Zenith Bank Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has announced the appointment of Dr. Adaora Umeoji as its new Group Managing Director, effective June 1, 2024. Additionally, the announcement signed by the Company Secretary Michael Otu was officially filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Tuesday. Dr. Umeoji will succeed the current Group Managing Director, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure concludes on May 31.

Prior to her elevation to Group Managing Director, Dr. Umeoji served as the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank since October 28, 2016. With close to 30 years of banking experience, including 26 years with Zenith Bank, she brings a wealth of expertise and leadership acumen to her new role.
Dr. Umeoji’s academic credentials are impressive, having attended prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, University of Jos, Baze University, University of Salford, MIT Sloan School of Management, Wharton Business School, and Apollos University, USA. Her diverse educational background complements her extensive experience in the banking sector.
