Abia State Holds Town Hall Meeting in Ohafia to Engage Constituents

In a bid to enhance governance through community engagement, the Abia State government participated in a Town Hall meeting in Ohafia. The session, which took place within the Abia North Senatorial District, included representatives from Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The town hall meeting therefore provided an opportunity for Governor Alex Otti to extend gratitude to the people of Abia North for their support. Moreover, as the administration approaches its one-year mark, the governor emphasized the importance of constituent feedback in refining and improving governance initiatives.

Listening to Constituent Feedback

Governor Otti highlighted the administration’s commitment to listening to the feedback from residents. He stated that these inputs are crucial for adjusting policies and ensuring that the government’s actions reflect the needs of the people. “We acknowledge that mistakes can occur, but we are committed to learning from these errors and making necessary corrections,” Otti said. He assured that the voices of the youth, women, and men in the community have been heard and their concerns will be addressed promptly.

Focus on Transparency and Accountability

During the meeting, Governor Otti reiterated that his administration is dedicated to transparency and accountability. Furthermore, he declared that they have ended the era of abusing public trust. Additionally, the governor mentioned that they reviewed the previous administration’s activities to set a precedent for responsible governance. “We believe in setting a precedent for post-tenure audits to ensure accountability. Moreover, we hope to be held to the same standards after our tenure,” he added.

Commitment to Progress

Governor Otti assured the attendees of the Abia State town hall meeting that Abia State is on an upward trajectory. He affirmed the administration’s commitment to propelling the state toward progress and avoiding past inefficiencies. The community met the governor’s statements with optimism, eager to see continued improvements.
