Christ the King College Honours Students
An Anambra school, Christ the King College in Onitsha, Anambra State, celebrated its students for winning the World Affairs Challenge in Denver, Colorado, USA. This prestigious competition, organised by WorldDenver, encourages high school students to create innovative solutions for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Innovative Solutions for Global Issues
This year, the students addressed critical issues like climate change, poverty, and inequality. The “Golden Boys,” as they are called, impressed judges with their project, “Wise Tales by Primus.” This series of digital comic stories tackles environmental degradation, climate change, and substance abuse, aiming to raise awareness and inspire change among young people.
Triumphant Victory
Students Ekufu Ernest, Obuna Tochukwu, Umeodinka Emmanuel, Ejike Ekene, and Ubah Jason, under the guidance of coach John Onuigbo, defeated competitors from the US and Turkey after overcoming the African Regional Champions. Their victory in April 2024 marked a significant achievement for the school and Nigeria.
