Nomadic Education Commission- ‘Miyetti Allah’ Urges Tinubu

Nomadic Education Commission

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) under its National President, Alhaji Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, in a letter to the president has urged Tinubu to ensure the independence of the National Commission for Nomadic Education. He praises Tinubu for his efforts in infrastructure development, agricultural progress, and enhanced security during his first year in office, while acknowledging his courage, vision, and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

Commitment to Agriculture

Othman-Ngelzarma highlighted Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, particularly in agriculture, aiming for Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in food security. He emphasised the need for massive investments in agronomy and livestock production, which could significantly contribute to the nation’s economy and job creation.

Call for Livestock Ministry

MACBAN is looking forward to the establishment of a Ministry for Livestock, a promise made by Tinubu. Notably, the ministry will manage the N15 trillion livestock industry. Consequently, it will create numerous quality jobs, and address unemployment and poverty. These efforts, in turn, will help to mitigate the threats to national cohesion and security.

Security Concerns

While appreciating the efforts of security agencies in combating crime, Othman-Ngelzarma expressed concerns about the profiling and extortion of innocent pastoralists. Moreover, he highlighted the importance of addressing these issues to ensure fairness and justice for all citizens. He called for fair treatment and protection of pastoralists to uphold their rights and dignity.

Continued Support for Tinubu

MACBAN pledged its continued support for Tinubu’s administration, aiming to strengthen institutional frameworks and make Nigeria a leading nation in innovation and productivity. The association envisions the president’s plans materialising, bringing benefits to all Nigerians.
