Herdsmen Attack in Jigawa Leaves Eight Injured

In a concerning development, herdsmen attack on four communities in Jigawa State, leaves eight people imjured. The Jigawa Police Command confirmed the incident on Saturday, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region.

The attacks occurred in the Birninkudu, Dutse, and Kiyawa Local Government Areas. According to DSP Lawal Adams, the police spokesman, herdsmen armed with bows, arrows, machetes, and sticks invaded Baranda village. The villagers defended themselves, resulting in injuries to eight people, who were then hospitalised at Dutse General Hospital.

The Jigawa State Police Commissioner, Ahmed T. Abdullahi, visited the affected areas alongside other high-ranking police officials. They assessed the situation in Kalai, Waza, Baranda, and Katanga villages, where significant damage had occurred due to the clashes between farmers and herders.
