OPSH Troops Bust Gun Syndicate: Seize Weapons

In a significant breakthrough, OPSH troops bust gun syndicate. The troops from Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have discovered a gun manufacturing factory in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This operation aligns with the resolve of Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Armoured Division, to decisively tackle crime and mop up illegal weapons.

Intelligence-Led Operation

After a week-long intelligence operation, the troops captured a wanted gunrunner, Napoleon John. The suspect guided the troops to a hidden factory where another individual, Monday Dunia, sold arms. Dunia confessed to being in the business for over five years, contributing to the crisis in Kaduna and neighbouring Plateau States.

Weapons and Ammunition Recovered

A thorough search led to the recovery of 22 different weapons, including 7 pistols, 2 locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, and 9 revolvers. Additionally, the troops seized combat gear, machine tools, and a gas cylinder. In a follow-up operation, they captured more weapons and ammunition, including dangerous daggers and police uniforms.

Ongoing Operations

The major kingpin, whose name is withheld, remains at large. However, the GOC/Commander OPSH vowed to ensure all fleeing syndicate members face justice. He also warned criminals to abandon their unlawful activities.

Public Support and Confidentiality

General AE Abubakar expressed gratitude to the public for their support and assured them that he would treat any provided information with the highest level of secrecy and confidentiality.

Earlier Report on Crime in Enugu

Pen Agency News previously reported that the EFCC’s Enugu Zonal Command arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters. The arrest serves as a stern warning to others engaged in internet fraud, highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling this issue head-on. This adds another layer to the complex security challenges facing Nigeria, making the OPSH operation in Kaduna even more critical.
