Teenager’s Body Discovered in Ejigbo
Police discovered the body of 17-year-old Adeolu Olubade, buried in a shallow grave inside an apartment in Lagos. Authorities made the discovery on September 3, 2024, after the boy’s family reported him missing the previous day. The police have since arrested a 30-year-old suspect in connection with the crime, which took place at Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street.
Police Confirm Arrest of Suspect
Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and stated that the investigation is ongoing. The crime is believed to have occurred between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on September 2, 2024. The family of the deceased has accused the suspect, who lived at the same address, of carrying out the horrific act.
Shallow Grave and Postmortem Examination
Police officers arrived at the crime scene and discovered the shallow grave inside an apartment room. They exhumed Adeolu Olubade’s body and transported it to Isolo General Hospital for a postmortem examination. Officers also recovered a shovel, believed to have been used in the crime, as evidence.
Suspect to Face Further Investigation
The police confirmed they will transfer the 30-year-old suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Alagbon for further investigation. Hundeyin assured the public that the police remain committed to ensuring justice and promised to release more details as the investigation progresses.

Residents of the Ejigbo area remain in shock following the gruesome discovery. The family of the deceased has called for swift justice, expressing their devastation at the loss of their son.
