Mr. P Refutes Rudeboy’s Accusation Amid PSquare Feud

PSquare Feud Intensifies Over New Song Dispute

Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P of the famed Nigerian duo PSquare, has denied accusations from his brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), of stealing his song. The ongoing rift between the brothers has kept fans and the Nigerian music scene abuzz, with Rudeboy alleging that Mr. P released the song “Winning” without consent, sparking further tension within the family.

Rudeboy Claims Song Theft

Rudeboy publicly accused Mr. P of recording and releasing “Winning” after claiming he had written and performed it for his upcoming solo album. According to him, Mr. P, along with producer Vampire, recorded the song without his knowledge, adding another layer to the family feud that has already garnered significant public attention.

Mr. P Responds: “It’s My Property!”

In response, Mr. P took to social media, asserting that he co-wrote “Winning” with songwriter Calypso60 and refuting Rudeboy’s claim. He called the accusation baseless, explaining that as a co-creator, he couldn’t possibly “steal” the song. Mr. P also thanked Vampire and co-producer Goldswarm for their contributions, emphasising their rightful recognition in the track’s production.

Brothers’ Feud Dates Back Years

The feud between the Okoye brothers dates back to 2017, when PSquare disbanded for the first time, with both pursuing solo careers. Though briefly reunited in 2021, the reconciliation was short-lived, as recent accusations and tensions continue to overshadow hopes for a lasting reunion. Their public disagreements have only intensified the divide, despite repeated calls from fans for unity.

Legal and Financial Battles Amid Family Tensions

Earlier this year, the feud took a legal turn when Paul and their elder brother Jude were questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Paul alleged that Mr. P instigated the investigation over unresolved financial issues within their joint company, which has since exacerbated their strained relationship and amplified public scrutiny.

Fans Left Wondering About PSquare’s Future

As the feud escalates, PSquare’s loyal fanbase remains hopeful for a truce that may restore the iconic music duo. However, Mr. P’s latest release and his focus on solo work suggest that a reunion might not be in sight, leaving the future of PSquare uncertain as the brothers’ personal and professional conflicts play out in public.
