Governor Otti Highlights Commitment to Statewide Security

Governor Alex Otti handed over 20 Toyota Hilux trucks to security agencies, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to safety. The event occurred in Umuahia on Monday to strengthen security operations across Abia State. This measure aims to bolster safety efforts during the festive season and beyond.

Addressing security personnel and stakeholders at the event, Governor Otti emphasized that security remains a top priority for his government. He applauded the progress made so far and called for sustained vigilance to ensure peace and safety across Abia State.

Strengthening Security Infrastructure

Governor Otti reiterated that his administration had prioritized enhancing security since taking office over 18 months ago. According to him, the delivery of the 20 operational vehicles fulfills a promise to equip security agencies for seamless operations.

“When we assumed leadership of this state, we made it very clear that security was topmost on our agenda,” Otti stated. “Every other initiative would amount to nothing if security was compromised. These vehicles are a way of appreciating your efforts and equipping you to be more efficient.”

The governor emphasized that Abia would no longer be a refuge for criminals, as the security system was strengthened.

Call for Professional Conduct

Governor Otti urged security personnel to remain professional in their duties while warning against misconduct such as extortion and the unlawful treatment of citizens. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate behavior that undermines public trust.

“This state will not accommodate individuals who refuse to abide by the dictates of the law,” Otti said, reaffirming his administration’s zero-tolerance approach to crime.
