Abia State Reopens Upgraded Hospitals to Boost Healthcare

In a significant move to enhance healthcare in Abia State, the government has announced the reopening of the General Hospital Amachara and the renovated Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre. Abia State reopens upgraded hospitals as these facilities have undergone extensive upgrades and, as a result, will now benefit from round-the-clock power and water supply.

Governor Alex Otti said, “We are determined to combat modern diseases by providing quality healthcare for our people.” To fulfil this commitment, the government has upgraded hospitals in Abia State. These improvements are part of a broader initiative to ensure residents can access medical care within the state.

Moreover, the government issued a stern warning to vandals targeting medical equipment, stating they will face legal consequences. “My promise to Ndị Abia, central to the Labour Party agenda, is that we will spend our waking hours working for you,” the spokesperson added.

Special thanks were initially extended to Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, the Commissioner for Health. Furthermore, additional gratitude went to Dr Betty Emeka Obasi, SSA on Special Duties. The executive team of the State’s Ministry for Health also received praise for their contributions to this healthcare milestone.
