Ajayi Crowther University: Emami Demands Justice For Slain Student

Nigerian businessman and politician Ayiri Emami has vowed to occupy Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State following the death of a 200-level student, Alex Timileyi, who was beaten to death. Emami criticised the silence of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Education Minister Tahir Mamman, calling for immediate action.

Public Outcry and Demand for Justice

In a viral video, Emami, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress, expressed his outrage and demanded justice.

Speaking in Warri pidgin, Emami in the video said, “Iprobleme, black hour! Itsekiri. Makinde, I  hope say you dey hear me anywhere you dey and the minister for education, whether that minister na my Oga boy (Tinubu).

“E don happen. E don happen. But they must follow this matter to the latter, if not eh.

“The boy (late Alex) na prince for Warri. Two areas wey no too good (rival areas) combine born the boy.

Moreover, he stressed that he would not resort to taking the law into his own hands yet, but insisted on justice for Timileyi, a prince in the Uvwie and Warri kingdoms of Delta State.

Persistent Plea for Accountability

Emami urged Governor Makinde to thoroughly address the issue. He highlighted the necessity of holding those responsible accountable and criticised the lack of response from the authorities.

Emami warned that he and his supporters will occupy Ajayi Crowther University if authorities do not promptly serve justice.

Response from University Authorities

Ajayi Crowther University has expelled the students involved in the incident and handed them over to the police. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Timothy Adebayo vowed to ensure justice, confirming that the suspects are currently in police custody.
