Abia State Polytechnic Renamed in Honor of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu
Abia State Governor Alex Otti officially renamed Abia State Polytechnic in Aba to honor the late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. He made this announcement during an interdenominational church service held in Umuahia, the state capital. The renaming pays tribute to Onu’s significant contributions as the first Executive Governor of Abia State.

Otti emphasized that Dr. Onu’s legacy would not be overshadowed by death, stating that the polytechnic will now bear the name Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba.
