Makurdi, Nigeria – Governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia of Benue State recently emphasized the importance of allowing his administration to operate without interference from previous administrations. Governor Alia made this assertion during a press briefing held in Makurdi, the state capital, following his return from the United States of America.

Reflecting on his recent visit to the USA, Governor Alia revealed that he and nine other Northern governors received invitations from the US Peace Institute to address the insecurity challenges facing the region. He expressed his commitment to resolving issues such as displaced persons and improving the state’s national image. The governor highlighted continuing peace-building efforts, particularly in Gwer West, Gwer East, Guma, and Makurdi, as farmers return.
Governor Alia urged cooperation with security agencies and emphasized the role of every citizen in maintaining security. He warned against manipulation into criminal activities and pledged to hold accountable anyone involved in such acts. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to fulfilling financial obligations and creating employment opportunities for the people of Benue State.
