Burkina Faso Seeks Sustainable Solutions for Counterfeit Goods
In a groundbreaking move, Burkina Faso is transforming counterfeit goods valued at 847,405,000 FCFA (approximately $1.3 million) into useful products. The National Coordination for the Fight against Fraud (CNLF) confiscated counterfeit food, veterinary, pharmaceutical, and clothing products. The Ministry of Economy, under Aboubakar Nacanabo, has partnered with the Association Verger Potager du Renouveau to repurpose these goods. This initiative aims to transform seized counterfeit goods into valuable resources, supporting the country’s agro-pastoral development.

Dr. Yves Kafando confirmed the seized goods would be transformed into fertilizers, compost, paving stones, and more.
