Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has committed to reconstituting the Abia Pilgrims Welfare Board. This announcement came during a meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, led by Executive Secretary Bishop Stephen Adegbite. The meeting took place at the governor’s Nvosi country home in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.

Bishop Adegbite discussed the current arrangements for the 2024 Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He noted that the cost now stands at N5 million per pilgrim, with final costs for participants from Abia pending state support approval.
