Governor Otti Vows to Revitalize Aba’s Commercial Glory

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has reiterated his commitment to transforming Aba into a vibrant commercial hub. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Aba for the Abia South Senatorial District, Otti outlined his administration’s achievements and future plans for the city.

Over the past year, Governor Otti’s administration has focused on restoring Aba’s status as a commercial powerhouse. Moreover, he highlighted the detrimental impact of previous administrations’ poor leadership on Aba’s development, stressing his resolve to prevent the city’s collapse under his watch. Otti’s decision to enter politics, leaving a successful banking career, was significantly influenced by his dedication to Aba’s revival.

Born and raised in Aba, Otti emphasized his deep connection to the city and his ambition to foster its socioeconomic growth. He described Aba as a place where hard work and determination can lead to success, lamenting its decline over the decades. The governor assured that ongoing initiatives would soon transform Aba beyond recognition.

Governor Otti commended the efforts of the Transition Committee chairmen, acknowledging their achievements and addressing their concerns. Furthermore, he encouraged the people of Abia to share their ideas with the government, thereby reinforcing his administration’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends.

Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu and Speaker of the State House of Assembly Emmanuel Emereuwa echoed Otti’s sentiments. They presented the government’s scorecards, which reflected positive outcomes of the administration’s rural development initiatives. Other political leaders and stakeholders, including Labour Party National Vice Chairman Ceekay Igara and traditional rulers, praised the governor’s leadership and called for further infrastructure improvements.
