The brutal beheading of Zachary Maduka, of the Labour Party in Abia State, has plunged the Labour Party into mourning. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, is among those who have widely condemned the shocking event.
Returning from an international engagement in Bangladesh, Peter Obi expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the gruesome incident. “I arrived home this morning to receive the very sad and ugly news of the beheading of Zachary Maduka. Such a despicable act remains condemned in all its ramifications,” Obi stated.
Peter Obi extended his heartfelt condolences to Zachary Maduka’s immediate family, the people of Abia State. “I condole with his immediate family, Governor Alex Otti, the good people of Abia, and the Labour Party family,” he said.
In light of this tragic event, Obi made a fervent appeal to Governor Otti to ensure that justice is served. “I sincerely appeal to Governor Otti, in line with my avowed commitment to rid Abia of all forms of criminality, to ensure that this type of hateful, dastardly act does not go unpunished,” Obi urged.
Obi expressed confidence that the Governor and the government of Abia would support the bereaved family during this difficult time. “I am sure the Governor and the government of Abia will be there for the family, and so will all of us, the extended family members,” he added.
Peter Obi calls for collective action to eradicate such heinous acts from society. “May God Almighty grant him eternal rest,” Obi concluded, praying for the soul of the departed.
