Two Abducted in Late-Night Attack
The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two individuals in a late-night attack on Yabo, the headquarters of Yabo Local Government Area. Armed men suspected to be terrorists targeted the town, abducting Mallam Abubakar Umar Yabo and Malam Abba Muhammad from their respective homes.
Police Intervention Disrupts Further Abductions
According to the Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Ahmad Rufai, the armed assailants had plans to target another household. However, the alert resident called the police, whose swift response disrupted the attackers’ operations. Despite an exchange of gunfire, the gunmen succeeded in abducting two individuals before fleeing the scene.
Victims Taken from Unsecured Homes
Reports indicate that the abducted victims were taken from their homes, which had been left unsecured. “The two individuals left their homes open, and during the commotion with the police, the gunmen abducted them,” ASP Rufai stated. Efforts are underway to locate and rescue the victims.
