Gunmen Storm Abuja Community
In the early hours of Monday, January 27, 2025, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers stormed the Chikakore area in Abuja. The armed assailants attacked the Bwari Area Council community, abducting four residents during the raid. Eyewitnesses reported the attackers arrived in large numbers, wielding sophisticated weapons, causing widespread panic.
Kidnappers Disguise as Vigilantes
According to police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the kidnappers posed as vigilante members to gain access to the victims’ residence. The attackers deceived the victims into opening their gates, after which they abducted four family members. A neighbor who attempted to intervene during the attack sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Police Respond Swiftly to the Incident
FCT Police operatives responded promptly to the distress call, arriving at the scene shortly after the attack. Preliminary investigations revealed that seven men, armed with machetes and sticks, were involved in the abduction. The police have launched a full search and rescue operation to locate the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
Victims Identified as Family Members
