The House of Representatives Committee on Disabilities has taken decisive action following reports of discrimination against Mr. Adebola Daniel, a person living with a disability, by Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). The committee, chaired by Bashiru Ayinla, has summoned the management of KFC over the incident, which occurred at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Mr. Daniel, the son of former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, was reportedly denied access to the KFC outlet due to his disability. Ayinla, addressing House correspondents at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, affirmed the committee’s commitment to upholding the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring accountability for violations of the Disability Act.
Ayinla emphasized that Mr. Daniel’s case underscores broader issues of inclusivity and respect for persons with disabilities in Nigeria.
