This measure aims to enhance the integrity and security of the national SIM registration database.
Immediate Assistance for Disconnected Users
For those affected by the service interruptions, telecom companies released a detailed statement on Monday explaining the step-by-step process to regain connectivity. Service providers tailor these steps to ensure that all subscribers can efficiently navigate the requirements.
Step-by-Step Unblocking Process
- Airtel Users: Dial *121#, enter your eleven-digit NIN, and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation message once your SIM is successfully unbarred.
- 9mobile (EMTS): For 9mobile users, dial 2008# to start the unblocking process.
- Glo Subscribers: Dial 109, add your NIN (e.g., 10912345678901#), and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Extended Support for Other Networks
- MTN: Visit the dedicated portal at nin.mtn.ng to check your NIN linkage status. If your NIN is not linked, guides will assist you in linking it. Once linked, your line will automatically become unbarred.
- Smile Communications: Email your NIN to customercare@smile.com.ng or call 07020444444. Once verified and consent is given, your service will be restored.
- Spectranet and Ntel: For these providers, either contact their customer support or visit their physical stores. Spectranet users can email care@spectranet.com.ng, and Ntel customers can have their NIN verified in-store.
