Former Kogi Speaker Supports President’s Efforts
Prince Mathew Kolawole, the immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has called for patience regarding President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Kolawole believes that Tinubu inherited a deeply flawed economic system and requires additional time to implement necessary reforms. In an interview in Lokoja, Kolawole emphasized the need for Nigerians to exercise patience as the president navigates the complexities of governance. He stated, “We are in a trying moment concerning the economy and the wellbeing of citizens. President Tinubu needs more time to fully settle down and address the issues we face as a nation.”

Defending Former Governor Bello
Kolawole also weighed in on the ongoing situation between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello. He expressed concern for Bello, who has made significant sacrifices for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kolawole criticized the treatment Bello is currently facing and argued that his contributions to the party, especially during the 2023 elections, warrant respect and support rather than persecution.
