Labour Party Denounces PEPC Judgement: “Justice Was Not Served”

The Labour Party has publicly rejected the judgement delivered today by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), led by Justice Haruna Tsammani. The party argues that the ruling neither serves justice nor reflects the law and the will of the Nigerian people.

A Flawed Election

“The electoral robbery that occurred on February 25, 2023, drew global condemnation. Nigerians saw it, yet the Tribunal chose to turn a blind eye,” said Obiora Ifoh, National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party.

Democracy at Risk

The Labour Party emphasises that the Tribunal’s decision puts democracy at stake. “We will continue to fight until the will of the people prevails,” Ifoh added.

Saluting the Legal Team

The party commended its team of lawyers for their fearless exposure of the flaws in the Nigerian electoral system. “While we mourn for democracy in Nigeria, we refuse to give up on the country,” said Ifoh.

Next Steps

The Labour Party will present its official position after consulting with its lawyers and receiving the Certified True Copy of the judgement.

A Call to Action

“We urge all lovers of democracy to stay focused and hopeful. A new Nigeria is possible,” concluded Ifoh.
