Henry Mbachu, a Labour Party chieftain, declares that LP is the only solution to Nigeria’s economic crisis. He represents the Akwa South constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly. Mbachu asserts that the Labour Party’s people-focused approach will resolve the nation’s economic issues. He believes that LP offers the needed relief for Nigeria’s struggling economy. According to Mbachu, other parties have failed, making LP the best hope for economic recovery.
Labour Party’s People-Centred Approach
Mbachu states that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) created the Labour Party for Nigerians. He stresses that the Labour Party’s vision prioritises improving the welfare of the people. Mbachu believes this focus sets the Labour Party apart from other political parties in Nigeria. He asserts that other parties have failed to address the country’s economic challenges. According to Mbachu, only the Labour Party is committed to serving the people effectively. According to him, “The Labour Party is the new normal, every other party has failed Nigerians.”
Urging Members to Strengthen the Party
The lawmaker called on LP members to remain dedicated to making the party a strong contender in future elections. Mbachu urges party supporters to take ownership of the party’s growth and success, adding that the LP belongs to the people and must stay focused on serving them. He encouraged members not to allow internal or external forces to weaken their resolve.
Leadership Crisis and Reconciliation Efforts
Amid internal challenges within the Labour Party, Mbachu expressed confidence in the party’s ability to resolve its leadership issues. He endorses the 29-man reconciliation committee, led by Senator Nenadi Usman, which aims to address the internal crisis. Mbachu praised the efforts of the national leaders, including Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti, in driving reconciliation forward.
Vote of Confidence in Leadership
Mbachu commended Peter Obi and Governor Otti for their leadership in steering the party through turbulent times. He revealed that the stakeholders’ meeting held in Umuahia last week yielded positive outcomes. Mbachu also expressed confidence that the reconciliation committee would deliver timely results within its 90-day mandate.
Optimism for Labour Party’s Future
With every sense of responsibility, Mbachu praised the outcome of the recent party meeting, affirming that it demonstrated the commitment of leaders like Peter Obi. He believes that the Labour Party has the potential to emerge victorious in the upcoming elections if its current trajectory is maintained.
