The Governor made these claims during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on April 5, 2024.

Call for Concrete Evidence

Responding to the allegations, Major General Buba Edward, Director of Defence Media Operations, released a statement. Military’s Commitment to Operations

Major General Edward highlighted the military’s steadfast commitment to its operations, stressing their resolve to continue combating terrorism with diligence. Additionally, he pointed out that the military strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and criminality within its ranks. This strict enforcement ensures they swiftly address any misconduct through established judicial processes.

Public Reporting and Accountability

In his statement, Edward reiterated the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s dedication to serving the citizens. Furthermore, he urged the public to report any misconduct observed among military personnel. This proactive reporting would help maintain the integrity of military operations and ensure the appropriate handling of any wrongdoing.

Cooperation and Transparency
