Former Governor Commits to Investing in Health Sector
Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has donated 10 million Naira to the Millennium College of Nursing Sciences of the Diocese of Awka (Anglican Communion). The donation was made at the Foundation Stone Laying ceremony for the Department of Midwifery and Public Health Nursing of the college.
Obi Recalls Supporting College with 40 Million Naira
In his remarks, Obi said that he was committed to investing in the health sector, which he described as “the most critical aspect of human development.” He recalled how, as governor, he had supported the college with 40 million Naira, which enabled its initial establishment.
Obi Urges Others to Support College
Obi said that the investment in the college was part of his vision for a “New Nigeria,” where everyone has access to quality education and healthcare. He urged other stakeholders to support the college so that it can continue to provide quality education to nurses and midwives.
Obi’s Donation to Help Improve College’s Facilities
The Proprietor of the college, Most Rev’d Dr Alexander Ibezim, thanked Obi for his donation and said that it would be used to improve the facilities and infrastructure of the college. He said that the college was committed to providing quality education to nurses and midwives so that they can contribute to the improvement of the health sector in Nigeria.
