Peter Obi Mourns Death of Nollywood Actor Pope Odonwodo

The presidential candidate of Labour party, His Excellency Ex-Governor of Anambara state, Peter Obi in a direct tweet, has expressed sympathy and shock at the news of the demise of veteran actor Mr. Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, whose demise occurred on Wednesday on the Niger river. His Excellency expressed how grave the loss is to the movie industry as he mourns with the industry. He commiserates with the families of the deceased in their agony and pain, stressing how painful it is to lose a such talent and promising young man.

The reports of the death of vibrant Nollywood actor Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope, shocked me. Our entertainment industry, and indeed our dear nation, is once again thrown into mourning, by the death of this young talented actor.

Junior Pope entertained and educated audiences with his energetic acting, delivering comedy with skill and humor. He brought smiles to the faces of many through his roles in movies and comedy skits.

His death is yet another great loss to the entertainment industry which has in recent years risen to become a most vibrant sector of our social and economic life. I am even more saddened to imagine the pain and agony of the families they have just left behind.

I also condole with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, and the entire entertainment industry.

The speaker extends condolences and prayers for strength to cope with the irreplaceable loss and peace for the departed.

He acknowledges the profound sorrow of losing someone with a promising future, emphasizing the agony of untimely death.
