Obi reminded his supporters that the journey they embarked upon was never going to be a short sprint but a long and challenging marathon. “It was always going to be difficult, painful, and excruciating,” he said, adding that the forces they are up against are formidable but not insurmountable.

The Labour Party candidate expressed his inspiration at the resilience shown by his supporters. “In such a short space of time, we have persevered to get to the point where we cannot be ignored any longer,” he noted.
