Russian Defensive Actions
Russia reported downing 87 Ukrainian drones, with 70 of them targeting the southern Rostov region, which houses the headquarters of Russia’s military operation against Kyiv. The defence ministry confirmed that these attacks caused power cuts in several areas of Rostov. Additionally, drones were intercepted over Kursk, Voronezh, Volgograd, and Belgorod regions.
Impact on Russian Infrastructure
In Voronezh, falling debris from the attacks slightly damaged a fuel reservoir. This incident highlights the increasing reach of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian energy facilities, aiming to disrupt critical infrastructure.
Ukrainian Defensive Success
Ukraine successfully intercepted 24 out of 31 Russian drones and missiles overnight, according to Ukrainian officials. Despite these efforts, six people were wounded in an attack on Selydove, a frontline town in the Donetsk region. In the eastern Sumy region, a drone attack wounded three people and damaged several homes in the neighboring Kharkiv region.
