The highly anticipated bout between YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has been rescheduled for 15 November in Texas. Originally set for 20 July, the bout was postponed due to medical advice following Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up.
Co-Main Event Featuring Katie Taylor
Ireland’s Katie Taylor, the undisputed women’s light-welterweight world champion, will fight in the co-main event. She will face Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano in a rematch at NFL side Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This matchup promises to be a highlight, with Taylor having won their first encounter via split decision.
Tyson’s Determination
Despite the postponement, Tyson remains confident. “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me,” Tyson said. “While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.” Jake Paul echoed this sentiment on social media, stating, “New date, same place, same fate.”
Special Conditions for the Fight
The Tyson-Paul fight, broadcast on Netflix, has been sanctioned as a professional fight but will include special conditions. These conditions limit the contest to eight, two-minute rounds, and both fighters must wear 14oz gloves instead of the usual 10oz. Tyson, who last fought professionally in 2005, returned to the ring for an exhibition bout in 2020.

Tyson, renowned for becoming the first heavyweight to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles in 1987, remains a formidable figure in boxing. His unexpected defeat by Buster Douglas in 1990 remains one of the sport’s biggest upsets. Meanwhile, Jake Paul has made a name for himself by winning nine of his ten fights, primarily against former UFC fighters, with his only loss to British boxer Tommy Fury in February 2023.

Katie Taylor’s rematch with Amanda Serrano is highly anticipated. Taylor narrowly defeated Serrano in April 2022, and both fighters have since continued their winning streaks. “This is the rematch the world has wanted to see,” Taylor remarked when the fight was initially announced.
